Sleek New Wordpress Theme Design
Thank God for Wordpress. It’s still no easy task to design and develop a Wordpress theme, but it beats re-programming an entire new Flash site any day. My focus has been all over the place for the past few months. Any blog updates I’ve made on Muku Studios have basically been a lame attempt at trying to maintain traffic on the site โ like feeding the public empty calories. However, I’m attempting to remedy the situation by providing more quality content on the site. A friend of mine at Wordful has recently stressed the importance of great content and social networking. I guess I’ve always had a hunch it was important, but just haven’t had the time to write, Tweet and Facebook on a regular basis. Especially while trying to design, develop and quote other projects in the meantime. However, a poor economy has provided me with a little extra time on my hands, and I’ve been trying to put it to good use.
So, about this new theme design โ you are witnessing the first Organic Theme. Muku Studios has been working on an exciting new project, a Wordpress theme shop we’re calling Organic Themes. Why Organic Themes? Well, a percentage of all theme sales will be donated to environmental causes and charities. The themes will be very affordable, GPL licensed, coded and designed beautifully, easy to customize, content managed and help save the planet. I don’t think it gets any cooler than that! We haven’t set an official release date yet, but I wanted to start some buzz about the project. This current theme is based off the Organic Portfolio Theme. We plan to open the shop with at least 4 unique and well designed themes aimed at a variety of demographics, and then update the shop with new themes on a regular basis. That’s all the information I’m willing to disclose at the moment, but I’ll keep you informed as news develops.
In addition to Organic Themes, Muku has recently launched Discover Garden โ the Hawaii Adventure, Activities and Aloha Spirit Resource website. Discover Garden features the fun, unique, less commercialized and “non-touristy” locations, activities and people throughout the Hawaiian islands. Muku Studios designed, developed and maintains the website using Wordpress.
