We The Steeple Book Cover Design

We The Steeple Novel

My brother, Elliott Morgan, recently completed his first novel, We The Steeple. Like a good brother, I designed the cover for his book. We The Steeple is a dark and haunting Christian based tale written in a similar vein to Frank Peretti. I designed the cover to have a haunting appearance, drawing from the imagery within the book.

Pastor Mitch Goldberg finds himself at the center of the country’s latest revival — only this one is not from Heaven.

I guess you could say it all began four years ago, though that seems a little dramatic. I’ll say it began then, because that year was the catalyst. My daughter disappeared from the children’s church during a marriage seminar. And if it had ended there, that would have been enough. I remind God of that all the time… not sure if He even pays attention anymore.

Exactly one year later, on the hour, my wife was killed by a street thug. A year from that day, my best friend died alone in a hospital room of pancreatic cancer. So, of course, God would choose this day, four years since it “all began,” to allow the darkest of spiritual forces to pummel me while I preach, to destroy me from the inside out in front of a thousand so-called Christians.

And I saw that demon. You better believe I saw him, and I saw in whom he resided. An old deacon later took me down into the basement of the old church. I’ll never forget the humidity. He showed me the drawing my daughter made moments before she disappeared—the drawing of the demon I’d just seen.

I really like this design. I think the details such as using the t to make a cross is very good. Great job David!
