Benefits of Wordpress
WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time. At Muku Studios, we believe it’s the future of the web. Wordpress makes content managed websites affordable and easy for the common public. With a little research and computer know-how, anyone can now become the master of their own domain. Muku Studios uses Wordpress as the framework for many of our web projects. And with the new release of Wordpress 2.9, it’s better than ever. We have compiled a list of a few benefits to owning a Wordpress powered website:
Content Management. Wordpress is very easily content managed. It’s easier than updating a MySpace or Facebook page in my opinion. That saves clients a great deal of time and money. Rather than paying a firm or freelancer to constantly update their site and waiting up to several weeks for those changes to be made, the client can now make updates instantly by themself.
Search Engine Optimization. Wordpress is designed to be very search engine friendly. Meaning, your Google rankings will generally be higher than a Flash site or traditional HTML site. And the more people that can easily find your website, the more traffic you will have and hopefully more revenue. Also, plugins such as the “All in One SEO Pack” can greatly help your search engine optimization needs as well. Which brings me to my next point…
Plugins. Plugins are great. If you want something for your site, a Wordpress plugin probably exists for it. There are plugins for web advertising, flickr, twitter, e-commerce, newsletters, weather and surf reports, RSS feeds, SEO, Google Analytics and so many more it’s ridiculous. Many of these plugins are developed as “widgets” that can easily be added to your site using the Wordpress managment system.
Themes. We all grow tired of our website designs over time, but changing the design has always been such a hassle — until now. With Wordpress themes you can instantly activate a new web design while still retaining all of the content within the site. There’s no hassle of copying and re-sending all of your content to a new web designer or developer. This is great news for you and me, because there’s nothing more boring to a designer than copying and pasting content.
Blogs. Wordpress is most widely known as a blogging platform, but it’s ease of use and updates to the Wordpress engine have made it a great tool for managing entire websites, not just a blog. That being said, blogs are still very easily integrated in to Wordpress. Blogs are a great way to keep people coming back to your site and draw new visitors.
Cost Effective. Although Wordpress can be downloaded for free, the cost comes in to effect for the time it takes to design and develop custom themes, installation, styling, plugins, hosting, etc. This is where Muku comes to the rescue. We can quickly and professionally install and set up Wordpress. Muku designs and develops custom themes for considerably less than than the cost of other custom designed content managed website solutions. I’ve worked for large web design firms that don’t even accept web projects under 30,000 dollars. Many of the sites that I designed and developed within weeks while working for these firms were sold to clients for over 100K. A Wordpress website is just as effective and well designed, if not more, for a fraction of the cost. Contact us for a quote regarding a custom Wordpress theme design and installation. We will be happy to suggest the best solution for your budget.
These are only a few of the perks to owning a Wordpress site. If you currently have an old HTML or Flash website and decide to make the switch to Wordpress, you’ll wonder why you spent so much time and money on updates in the past. To learn more about Wordpress cruise on over to wordpress.org, and keep Muku in mind for any custom solutions.

Great points! Recently started to explore WordPress as well (making the move from Blogger.com). And, I see what you are talking about.
Maybe someday there will be a “FlashPress”.
Thanks for the information. Good Thought – I have bookmarked your blog.
Great points. I love wordpress. I use it for a website that while it includes a blog, is certainly not only a blog. It has news stories, blog posts, real estate listings, as well as hundreds of pages of real estate information. while paying 30k+ for a site was not an option for me, i am sure i could have paid that and gotten less.
nice article
